Quiet days

After a great beginning of the week. the last few days has been a bit disappointing. hot and no breeze. Divers are happy, fishermen as well. oh well everyone has to have their day. Getting some new kites in tomorrow - trying some Switchblade 2’s as well as the Waroos. will let you know how they are. finally got the new windsurfing boards out of their boxes. Everyone was eying the JP Freestyle wave 102. And the stickers went down a treat with the kids
Sami our new Sailsports dog (puppy) from Saga is still as mad as ever. not running Noah over quite as much, I think they will be best of friends soon. she stays at home most of the time but bringing her into the office 2 or 3 times a week to get her used to the shop, she still barks at her own shadow but manages to scare the workmen cycling past the house in the morning.
Noah’s new word is swim - good sign - although he cant yet more like drown, although that doesnt seem to bother him that much. Almost impossible to keep him out of the water now.

Great day today. averaged just above 17kn for most of the day. bit more in the morning. Phil was in nice and early to make the most of the breeze, then the usual lunchtime lull then it picked back up pm. Had some nice people out kiting - Lex this morning on his honeymoon and his birthday at the sametime. then Sue and Mike with their own Cabrinha Crossbows. Hoping its going to last through tomorrow so I can get out. the waves should have grown in the cut so fingers crossed some good 5-6ft faces in the cuts.

Tourists…

the rain has stopped. hurray. even bigger hurray as the island is starting to get busy again. Beautiful day today. steady breeze 10-15kn not huge but ok, lovely blue sky’s and hot. Ate at El Fagon for lunch, havent been there for ages. I had conch soup and Jo had the whole fish with rice and beans, great food. anyone coming down should go there for at least one meal.
something new on the island for those fitness fanatics is Tae Bo. Mel Greif has started running classes everyday. 4 times a day I think on somedays, Johnny said she burnt 2500calories on Wednesday.
Well hello to all the tourists here and those coming down. Even if you dont want to go out windsurfing, sailing, kiting or kayaking come and say hello.

Long time…

hello world,
its been a while. sorry about that. Havent posted for a while as Noah, Jo and I have been off on our Yearly travels back to the UK to see family and friends. Went for an extended trip this time - 7 weeks in all - that included a few days in Chicago on the way there and Orlando - Surf expo - on the way back. All in all a great trip. Stayed in Jos family house on the south coast of england - East Wittering - for most of the time. Managed to get out on the water a few time which was great. Very different from here in Belize - wetsuits, breakers on the beach (which was lovely) lots of people (took some getting used to). Also went over to hayling island to see one of the UK national windsurfing championships. they had night windsurfing as well. the wind was a good 25-30kn plus they had at least a couple of hundred sailors out so great to watch. Dave Hackford from Tushingham offered me some kit, but I was too chicken with all those people and boards and booms going everywhere.
Noah is getting big. growing like a weed is the expression I think…. he is now 21months (2 in Jan) so running around everywhere and starting to repeat everything we say.
Back in Belize - the island is still here and been pretty quiet for Sept and the first week of Oct. If you look on the weather station you can see we have had a few inches of rain in the last couple of days. not too nice. Side note - sorry about the graphs on the weather station page. trying to sort them out. the real time ticker tape is working well but not the graphs. the Hurricane season has been worryingly quiet so far this year, everyone is hoping that it doesnt have a sting in the tail.
Some sad news : Boots our dog died in July before we went away, which was very sad as she was a lovely dog.
Junior is off on his holidays - currently  in Guatemala visiting his father then he is plannig to spend a few days in Nicuragua.
We are busy repairing, cleaning and generally getting ready for the coming season. have some new boards coming in three JP 07 excite rides - 160L, 145L and 105L and also a 103L JP 07 freestyle wave.  Also have some bow kites coming in. Ordered a Contra for Johnny last year which is great, getting some Waroos and Switchblade 2’s for training and to sell. So if you are coming down we will have some great kites for you at good prices.
Well thats all for now. hello to Corina who is planning to come back and visit in the spring - and thanks for reminding me that I havent blogged for ages.
Cheers
Chris
